Travel safe with MTRX
With us at MTRX, the safety of our travelers and employees is always our highest priority, so even now during this pandemic. We want everyone on board our trains to feel safe. We therefore continuously and carefully follow the recommendations of responsible authorities and are prepared for rapid changes. We do several things to increase the security in connection with travel.
On 28 June, the government presented new positive information regarding the reopening of Sweden, which for us means eased restrictions on train travel. The message that was presented is that the restriction, where we are only allowed to sell 50% of our seats on board, will be lifted from 15 July instead of 14 August. This means that the seats that have been blocked on departures between 15 July and 14 August are now being released for booking.
Although relief is now being made for travel, we urge our travelers to always follow the general advice from the the Public Health Authority's regarding Covid-19 before and during the trip.
Cancellation of ticket
It is important that you as a traveler follow the Public Health Authority's guidelines and recommendations. Therefore, if you have changed plans, become ill or have symptoms before your trip, you can cancel your ticket.
If you have booked a FIX ticket with a departure date until September 5th, contact our customer service via formulary or email [email protected] no later than 24 hours before departure for help with cancellation. For the canceled trip, you will receive a voucher for the corresponding amount that you can use to book a new trip. The voucher is valid until December 31, 2021 and will be sent to your email address within three weeks.
If you have booked a FLEX or 1 CLASS PLUS ticket, you can cancel and rebook your ticket as usual. The easiest way to do this is to click on the Manage booking button in the booking confirmation you received via email or log in to My account at mtr.se.
From 15 July, all seats on board will be bookable
Until 15 July, only 50% of the seats on all MTRX departures can be booked and it is only possible to book window seats. After July 15, all seats are bookable on all our departures and we can therefor welcome more travelers who long to meet their loved ones or who want to take the train as a summer vacation.
This means that the places that have been blocked on departures between 15 July and 14 August can now be booked. It also means for you as a traveler that if you have a trip booked between these dates the aisle seat, which was previously blocked, can now be booked and you can have a fellow traveler next to you during your trip.
Book a 1 CLASS PLUS ticket and get a next seat free
If you want to sit more secluded during travel then you can book a 1 CLASS PLUS ticket. With that type of ticket, a next seat free to it is always included when you travel by yourself.
Book your own suite for you or your travel companion
If you or your travel companion want to sit completely separate on board, then a separate suite can be booked. In our suites up to eight people can sit and you have the option to close the door. Read more and send your request here or via email [email protected].
Free face masks for our travelers
Face masks are distributed by MTRX service hosts in connection with departure and each traveler receives one face mask for the trip. It is voluntary to use the face mask for both our passengers and our staff on board and is therefor not a requirement. We want to emphasize that face masks are an extra precaution and that you should only travel if you are completely healthy and asymptomatic. If you become ill or experience symptoms before your trip, you can cancel your ticket yourself or by contacting our customer service.
The face masks we distribute are CE-marked and manufactured by Mölnlycke. Product name: Mölnlycke BARRIER REF4228 and standard: EN14683: 2014. Here you can read the Swedish Public Health Agency's information on how to use and dispose face masks.
Extended cleaning routines and other measures
In addition to our usual cleaning routines, we have introduced a daily cleaning with disinfectant and extended supervision of the toilets several times while traveling. During inspection, touch surfaces are wiped with disinfectant. There are markings on the floor by the toilets to reduce the risk of queues. Hand sanitiser is also available in the café.
Guidelines in the café
We have taken a number of measures in our café on board. Our café is open as usual and here you buy food and drinks that you bring back to your own seat. There are markings on the floor to reduce the risk of queuing. Our café host helps you to pick the products you want to buy and hand sanitiser is available in the café.
