Travel safe with MTRX
With us at MTRX, the safety of our travelers and employees is always our highest priority, so even now during this pandemic. We want everyone on board our trains to feel safe. We therefore continuously and carefully follow the recommendations of responsible authorities and are prepared for rapid changes. We do several things to increase the security in connection with travel.
At the same time, we urge our travelers to follow the general advice from the Public Health Authorities regarding Covid-19 before and during the trip.
Cancellation of ticket
It is important that you as a traveler follow the Public Health Authority's guidelines and recommendations. Therefore, if you have changed plans, become ill or have symptoms before your trip, you can cancel your ticket.
If you have booked a FIX ticket with a departure date until April 30th, contact our customer service via formulary or email [email protected] no later than 24 hours before departure for help with cancellation. For the canceled trip, you will receive a voucher for the corresponding amount that you can use to book a new trip. The voucher is valid until October 31, 2021 and will be sent to your email address within three weeks.
If you have booked a FLEX or 1 CLASS PLUS ticket, you can cancel and rebook your ticket as usual. The easiest way to do this is to click on the Manage booking button in the booking confirmation you received via email or log in to My account at mtr.se.
Limited number of bookable seats on board until May 31st
To make you feel safe on board, we have limited the number of bookable seats, due to the government's increased restrictions for train travel from Sunday February 14th. This means that only 50% of the seats on all MTRX departures until May 31st are bookable. The limit on the number of bookable seats on board only applies to new bookings. This means that if you already have a trip booked, with departure after February 14th, you are not affected and have your booking with selected seat guaranteed. However, there may be departures in the near future where the number of passengers exceeds 50%.
In order to limit the number of bookable seats on board and for you as travelers to be able to keep your distance from your fellow passengers, only window seats can be booked. This means you get a next seat free when you travel with us until May 31st since the aisle seats can not be booked.
If you travel in the company of others, you will not be placed next to each other but in separate window seat as close to each other as possible. If places next to each other are desired, you can contact our service hosts on board.

Book your own suite for you or your travel companion
If you or your travel companion want to sit completely separate on board, then a separate suite can be booked. In our suites up to four people can sit and you have the option to close the door. Read more and send your request here or via email [email protected].
Free face masks for our travelers
Face masks are distributed by MTRX service hosts in connection with departure and each traveler receives one face mask for the trip. It is voluntary to use the face mask for both our passengers and our staff on board and is therefor not a requirement. We want to emphasize that face masks are an extra precaution and that you should only travel if you are completely healthy and asymptomatic. If you become ill or experience symptoms before your trip, you can cancel your ticket yourself or by contacting our customer service.
The face masks we distribute are CE-marked and manufactured by Mölnlycke. Product name: Mölnlycke BARRIER REF4228 and standard: EN14683: 2014. Here you can read the Swedish Public Health Agency's information on how to use and dispose face masks.
Extended cleaning routines and other measures
In addition to our usual cleaning routines, we have introduced a daily cleaning with disinfectant and extended supervision of the toilets several times while traveling. During inspection, touch surfaces are wiped with disinfectant. There are markings on the floor by the toilets to reduce the risk of queues. Hand sanitiser is also available in the café.
Guidelines in the café
We have taken a number of measures in our café on board. There are markings on the floor to reduce the risk of queuing. Our café host helps you to pick the products you want to buy and hand sanitiser is available in the café.
Due to the temporary ban on the sale of alcohol after 20.00, the café closes at 20.30. Own carried alcohol is not allowed to be consumed on board the trains.
